To accommodate differences in the shape of the lips, use of the oral cavity, and direction of the airstream, I have developed three styles of headjoint for the piccolo.”

笛頭的輪廓將吹口的前緣加高、將後緣降低。它的音色是非常渾厚乾淨及突出的，並且在力度上容易控制。低音域音色非常集中，可呈現良好的表現及點舌清晰度。

這個吹口的矩形在側邊切割得稍微多些以達到開放、如同長笛般的聲音，可以完美融合在合奏中。我們演奏彈性最大的笛頭樣式，您可以用它演奏極大聲的高音也不用擔心它尖銳刺耳，同時它也能演奏出穩定的漸弱。

Clarion

它具有較小的吹口與稍圓的邊緣，這樣的設計讓人想起早期法式與德式的短笛。它的音色十分集中、甜美。嘴型開口小的演奏者使用起來能夠獲得相較於其他笛頭樣式更穩定乾淨的音色。
